A thermal scope, also known as a thermal imaging scope, thermal rifle scope, or thermal weapon sight, is a high-tech optical device that detects infrared radiation (heat signatures) emitted by objects, animals, or people and converts it into a visible image on a display. Unlike traditional night vision devices that amplify ambient light, thermal scopes work in complete darkness, fog, smoke, rain, and through light foliage, making them one of the most powerful tools for low-visibility situations.
